![]() ![]() Very nice and thoughtful! Lisa advised Sperry's wanted to give me a dessert in celebration of my birthday, so we tried the carrot cake, which was amazing and just enough for us all to try. A few minutes later she came back and handed me a card with our photo and a birthday wish inside. A young lady came out after we were finished with our dinner and took our picture, which was unexpected but very much appreciated. ![]() Also, Sperry's has a very good salad bar, which we enjoyed. Usually, I am left wanting more! My wife, son and daughter all had the shrimp and grits and enjoyed them as well. Wow! They did not disappoint! The best I have had personally AND the two 4 ounce cakes, with a delicious sauce on top, were just the right amount. Being a long time crab cake lover, I gave them a try. After our food was delivered, we didn't see another wait person again as everyone in our section of the dining room had received their food, and there was a line of customers waiting to order food and be seated, so I never got to ask about the missing signature sauce. ![]() It was prepared very well in that the shrimp were not overcooked and dry (which is very hard to do when they are that small), and the cheesy grits were very creamy and flavorful. The menu description also states that it is served with Gulf Shrimp, and one would normally expect 6-8 fairly large sized shrimp, but instead it had about 15 to 16 very small salad size shrimp. Their signature item of shrimp and grits (which has been featured on the Food Network) was completely missing the Lemon Tabasco Beurre Blanc sauce (there was no lemon flavor nor any flavor or spice from Tabasco present in the dish). While we enjoyed our food, some things failed to live up to the menu description, as well as photos others had posted. ![]()
